The class of 1955 will celebrate our 55th class reunion the same weekend as the back to cradock event.
Our plan is to have dinner on friday night, gather for breakfast saturday morning (depending on the number of responses we have) and then proceed to afton square for the back to cradock event. A time to visit and celebrate our 55th year of our graduation from cradock high school. We were the first class to graduate from the new school.
We plan on having a truck/float in the parade. All of our plans depend on the number of attendees. The class plans on having a tent to allow our graduates to gather in one place.
If there are other items we need to take care of before that weekend, please contact Ralph Hicks, Glenda Mcrary or me.....our committee is small so we're working hard to make this event happen and be a memorable one.

I find that because of my health, I must remove my name as Point of Contact (POC) for the Class of 1964. This was a very hard decision, but I have not been able to perform the required duties and I feel I should step down and let someone else take over.
I had a lung transplant at the Cleveland Clinic in May 2004 and am now in chronic rejection. I retired from the Federal Government April 2003. I decided I didn’t like looking at the four walls and decided to go back to work full-time. In June 2005, I began working at the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am still at the college and doing okay. At the end of the day, I’m pretty tired and just want to rest. I am on continuous oxygen and have to have a portable tank with me at all times when I am not at home.
I hope someone will take over very soon as the Class of 1964 POC and will even plan some type of get-together during Come Home to Cradock, even if it is gathering at a local restaurant/bar on Friday or Saturday evening. With me living in Northern Kentucky, that is another thing that makes it difficult for me to be the POC.
I am not sure if Martha Elder Rush is still remaining active as the joint POC for the Class of 1964. I have not heard from her in a very long time. I know her husband passed away not too long ago and she probably needed time to deal with many things.
Between the two of us, that may leave the Class of 1964 with no POC.

Last Saturday I attended our grandson's Pre-K graduation ceremony. It occurred to me that graduations are special events to be remembered for a lifetime.
It was June 9, 1959 for us. I thought back on the excitement and apprehension I felt that evening when 163 of us paraded in front of hundreds of teachers and well-wishers, marking the end of the comfort zone we had at CHS and the beginning of an unknown world.
I just read over the letter that E. W. Chittum sent to the graduates of all the schools in Norfolk County and thought others of you might remember it. I hope we can gather in the fall to again remember those days we shared. Peace to all, Don

This is not a reunion but a casual get together for those who can make it to the dinner. Loretta Willis Marshall, CHS '57, and her husband Bill Marshall, Princess Anne High School, attended our 50th Reunion and took many photographs of the scheduled events posted on their Picasa site. In addition, as a reunion project, the Class of '57 hired Cradock's own Tommy Odom, CHS '59, a principal in Hampton Roads Video Production, to provide us with a DVD of our reunion activities. His work product included a nearly 2-hour retrospective look at the Class of '57 from our school days beginning in the first grade in 1945 through graduation from high school. It has photos from many class reunions through the years. Tommy did a masterful job of filming and producing our 1957 Class Memories DVD and those who attended our reunion received a complimentary copy. To defray production costs and as a fund-raiser for future class projects, we are selling copies of the DVD for $40.00 each. To order one send an email to revelerbk@cox.net. It is the next best thing to attending our class reunion, and for those who have lost their yearbooks it will be a treat.
