PORTSMOUTH - Patricia Ann Henkle, 61, of Kitty Hawk, N.C., died Sept. 24, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. A native of Portsmouth, she retired from Towne Bank in 2001 as a mortgage banker. She was a daughter of the late Thomas G. and Francis Baker Jones.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Lee Henkle; a daughter, Michele Chapman; a son, James C. Chapman Jr.; a sister, Connie Godwin and husband James; a granddaughter, Morgan Thomason Chapman, all of Portsmouth; her mother-in-law, Margery Henry; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Gene V. Primm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, VA 23513.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all.
