EDENTON - Wiley Mason "Mace" Tiller, 69, of the 120 block of Colony Drive, Edenton, died Saturday, Aug. 13, at his residence. Mr. Tiller was born in Amonate, Va., son of the late Mason Frederick and Nancy Lee Williams Tiller.

 

He was married to Linda Raye Tiller of the residence for 39 years. He was a retired planner/estimator with the Norfolk Naval Base for 37 years.

 

He was a member of Albemarle Baptist Church, Unanimity Masonic Lodge No. 7, the Sudan Shrine of New Bern, N.C., Yeopim Ruritan Club, Chowan Golf and Country Club, Lynnhaven Chapter No. 184 Eastern Star, and the Edenton Lions Club. His hobbies included stained glass, golf and gardening. He participated in many activities at the Senior Citizen Center in Edenton. He created the stained glass replica of the Seal of the City of Virginia Beach for the former mayor Myra Obendorf.

 

Mr. Tiller is survived by two daughters, Diana L. Richards and her husband Rambo of Chesapeake and Denise L. Robinson and her husband Jim of Edenton; two sons, Robert M. Tiller of Suffolk, and George Robertson and his wife Gretchen of Ashburn; a sister, Brenda Menchaca of Hollandale, Fla.; three brothers, Barry Tiller of Virginia Beach, Dale Tiller of Chesapeake, and Dean Tiller of Suffolk; and 10 grandchildren.

 

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Aug. 16, with Masonic Rites, at Albemarle Baptist Church in Edenton. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.evansfac.com.
