PORTSMOUTH - On Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, our family lost a beloved husband , father , brother and friend, Jerry Kemp Morrison .He passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jerry leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Lilley Morrison; one daughter, Tracie Heath and husband Earl; three sons, Terry Morrison and wife Kim, Todd Morrison and wife Geraldine, and Timothy Morrison and wife Penny; one brother, Steve Morrison; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, who will truly miss their Paw Paw.

Jerry retired after 40 years of service with the Virginia Department of Transportation, spending the last 10 years of his career as assistant resident engineer in charge of construction of the Monitor Merrimac Tunnel and staying on as facility manager until his retirement.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. John Robertson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8 p.m.
