Man killed in crash on his 73rd birthday

CRYSTAL RIVER - George Senn died on his 73rd birthday. Senn , of Crystal River, was the driver whose vehicle crashed Wednesday night in northwest Citrus. The Florida Highway Patrol didn't release his name until Friday, when the agency was finally able to locate and notify a relative about the death. Troopers say Senn was driving east on W Riverwood Drive at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday in a 2004 Ford Ranger when he missed a left curve in the road, went off the shoulder, crossed back over both lanes and rolled over on the north shoulder, according to a report. Senn was a retired veteran of all five branches of the military. He died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, the FHP said.
