Sarah Eugenia Hiers, 78, formerly of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in Inman. Born March 26, 1933, in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Emory Renfro and Martha Ballard Hiers.

Sarah was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, retired from Spartanburg Water System after 27 years of service, and graduated from Cradock High School in Portsmouth, VA. She loved people and enjoyed music.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Clary Riley and husband Jimmy of Inman; grandchildren, Logan, Jillian, and Chandler Riley, all of Inman; and sister, Martha Hunt of Hawaii.

Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Friday, March 9, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bill Adams and the Rev. Gary Hensley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
