Flora Ann Roland, 55, of the 5600 block of Wesleyan Drive, Virginia Beach, a retired school teacher, died Jan. 4, 1995, in Norfolk.

She was born in Miami and was retired from Lake Taylor High School, Norfolk, where she was also a guidance counselor. She was a graduate Cum Laude of James Madison University in 1961. Flora was the Valedictorian of The Class of 1957 at Cradock High School and a member of the National Honor Society. Her lifetime plan was to teach. She achieved her goals. She was a widely respected teacher for the Norfolk public schools system.

Survivors include a half brother, Vernon Jones of West Seneca, N.Y.; three aunts, Elnora Sharrett and Katheryn Dodge, both of Chesapeake, and Rose Collins of Baltimore; and several cousins.

A memorial service was conducted at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, by Dr. David R. Denny.
