ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Sharon Colleen Boatwright Gonzales, 53, went to be with her Lord, her parents and sister Monday, July 26, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Andy; son, Nathan Atchison and fiancée Margo Lowe; daughter, Amy LaCroix and husband Leopold, all of Watertown, N.Y.; grandchildren, Katelyn Rose, Terry Nathan, Samantha Colleen, Melody Rayne, Shane David and Neveah Rose; siblings, Donna Badger of Orland, Calif., Richard Lynch of Harrells, N.C., Margaret Duckwall of Portsmouth, Johnnye Lu Ponte of Suffolk, and F. E. Boatwright Jr. (Chip) of Portsmouth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Mann Boatwright and F. E. Boatwright Sr.; and sister, Dorthea Susan Alphin. She was born and raised in Portsmouth and later traveled extensively, settling in Albuquerque in 1998. Sharon was an avid Washington Redskins fan. She enjoyed the annual Hot Air Balloon Fiesta and loved Claude Monet artwork. Every July 4th was celebrated by viewing the musical "1776." From the time she could speak, Sharon loved to sing, whether it was in the car, in a church choir, karaoke, or any other opportunity to sing. Nothing meant more to her in this world than her husband and family. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-Haines Ward, 5709 Haines Ave., NE.
