Smithfield - George David Williams, 62, went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2014. A native of Portsmouth, he was predeceased by his mother, Vergie Manry Williams. He was a retired nuclear welder at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and an Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, George C. and Clair Williams; three sons, Michael Williams and wife Melissa of Portsmouth, Craig Williams of Portsmouth and Chance Williams of Suffolk; four sisters, Shirley Ventura of Virginia Beach, Barbara Mason of Chesapeake, Peggy Williams of Eclipse and Janet Kilpatrick of Suffolk; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
