Floyd Elwood Bass, 49, of the 200 block of Derby Road, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in a Portsmouth hospital.

He was a native of Wilson County, N.C., a son of Mina G. Holland Bass of Portsmouth and the late Addie Floyd Bass. He was a retired nuclear pipefitter.

Besides his mother, survivors include a brother, Terry Bass, of Chesapeake.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. G.W. Harley. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
