CHESAPEAKE - Charles Lloyd "Chuck" Stephens, 59, of Vineyard Drive, went to be with the Lord June 4, 2010 in Richmond. A native of Warren County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Hubert Stephens and Mabel Abbott Stephens Powell and a member of Colonial Baptist Church. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he retired from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service of the Norfolk Naval Base and most recently served as librarian at Central Theological Seminary. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn L. Stephens; a brother, Glenn Stephens; two nieces, Misty and Summer; stepfather, Sam Powell; and aunts, Ruby, Linda, Ada and Alice. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Colonial Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, with Dr. Dan Davey officiating. Burial will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
