CHESAPEAKE - Roy Lee Tucker Jr., 62, of the 3200 block of Jean Court, died March 30, 2009, in a Norfolk hospital. A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, he retired with 30 years of service from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 31. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Ten Point Hunt Club and Poor Boys Hunt Club, both in Emporia. Survivors include his wife, Donna Jean Tucker; his mother, Barbara Lucille Tucker of Portsmouth; three daughters, Erika Michelle Tucker of Virginia Beach, Ashley Nicole McCready and husband Jeremy of Chesapeake and Tammy Sue Tucker of Portsmouth; two sisters, Judy Tucker Brostrom and Suzanne Tucker McAlpin, both of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Robert Tucker of Portsmouth and David Tucker of Smithfield; and a grandchild, Madison "His Sunshine." He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Tucker Sr. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by Pastor Shannon Joyner.
