Alice "Brenda" Mouser Harrell, 58, passed away Aug. 7, 2005, at her residence. She was born May 26, 1947, in Portsmouth. Brenda was a member of Word of Life Ministries and a member of the Praise Team Singers. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, James Mouser and her grandparents, Jesse and Alice Atkins. Brenda is survived by her husband, Michael "Mike" Harrell of the home; one son, Zenath "Buddy" Hall of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Tracey Hall of Max Meadows and Amy Hall of Atlanta, Ga.; three stepsons and spouses, Jonathan and Kristen Harrell of Virginia Beach, Jeremy and Bryony Harrell of Ivanhoe, Va., and Justin Harrell of Wytheville, Va.; nine grandchildren, Michael and Loren Brickhouse, Seth, Jason, Zachary and John Panzino, Katie, Josh and Jynna Harrell; her mother and stepfather, Louise and M.C. "Smitty" Smith of Portsmouth; and four sisters, Doris Hunt of Chilhowie, Va., June Brewbaker of Chesapeake, Debbie Webber of Alexandria, Ala., and Joy Mutter of Chesapeake. Many nieces, nephews and especially her church family also survive. A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Word of Life Ministries with the Rev. Gary Cope officiating. Interment will follow in West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va.
