Portsmouth - Ronald Eugene Gibson, 53, of Warren Drive, died March 25, 2002, in a Portsmouth hospital. A native of Portsmouth, he was a retired truck driver and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his mother, Katie Curtis Gibson of Chesapeake; two daughters, Lisa G. Harris and Wendy G. Cooke, both of Portsmouth; a brother, Marvin A. Gibson Jr. of Chesapeake; and two grandchildren, Ashley N. Cooke and Amber R. Cooke. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin A. Gibson Sr.; a son, Ronald E. Gibson Jr. and a sister, Elizabeth A. Mallard.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. T.M. Frye with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
