Ervin Richard ``Cotton'' Bright, 54, of the 4600 block of Camellia Drive, died April 21, 1999, in Hampton.

Born in Oxfordshire, England, he was a senior electrician retired from the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge Tunnel.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Bright of the home; a daughter, Tammy Lascra of Fredericksburg, Va.; a stepson, Jim Stevens of Portsmouth; two sons, Jay Bright of Portsmouth and Shawn Bright of Norfolk; his mother, Agnes ``Betty'' Bright Proffitt of Chesapeake; two sisters, Shirley Caporale of Portsmouth and Evelyn Brett of Suffolk; a brother, Greg Bright of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Carma Sawyer of Suffolk.

A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Steve Bingham. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
