Mr. David Preston Hales Sr., 63, of Fayetteville, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was formerly employed with Lafayette Ford, Patrick Ford and Ford Motor Co. Inc.

He is survived by his former wife, Connie H. Hales; a son, David Preston Hales Jr. of Fayetteville; two stepdaughters, Mary Ellen Hammond of St. Pauls and Shannon Pouliotte of New Hampshire; six grandchildren, Christopher Matthew Hales, Joshua Matthew Hammond, Destinee Hope Lowery, Bryce Destrie-Ray Lowery, Sydne Pouliotte and Ethan Pouliotte; and a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Marie Hales.

He is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Barnes of Fayetteville and Ruth Hults of Windsor, Va.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, in the chapel of Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. Services entrusted to Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
