RICHARD T FLYTHE

September 15, 1944 ~ November 30, 2016 (age 72)

Memorial services for LTC (RET.) US ARMY Richard Turner Flythe, Jr.,72, will be conducted at 12:00 noon Saturday at Beulah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Rowell officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah UMC Building Fund 161 Beulah Church Road Gilbert, SC 29054.  Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family.

 Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, he was a son of the late Lillian Erekson and Richard Turner Flythe, Sr.  He was a member of Beulah UMC where he was President of the Men's Club and was a former Chairman of the Building Committee.  LTC Flythe retired from the US Army, was a member of the US Army Engineers Association and was Operations Manager of Columbiana Centre.

 Survivors include his wife of 47  years, Jane Husk Flythe, son, Richard Turner Flythe, III (Beverly), daughter, Tayloe Flythe Stevenson (Brandon), brother, Henry Gayle Flythe (Barbara), sisters, Bettie Garrison (Ray), and Brenda Dennis (Robert), grandchildren, Jared Dawkins, Carson Lester, Ashton Stevenson, Charlotte Dawkins and Max Flythe.
