Robert Edward Lee, a human resources specialist for Shell Chemical Co., died Friday of a stroke at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was 59.

Mr. Lee was born in Portsmouth, Va., and lived in Metairie for the past 22 years. He graduated from the Virginia Military Institute and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He received the Bronze Star and other commendations. Survivors include his wife, Nola N. Lee; a son, Noell A. Lee of Baton Rouge; a daughter, D. Margit Lee of Baton Rouge; and a brother, John W. Lee of Suffolk, Va.

A funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m.
