Thomas Rhoads "Tommy" Leary
Class of 1960

Suffolk - Thomas Rhoads Leary, Sr., 72, died August 24, 2014. A native of Portsmouth, he was predeceased by his parents, W.T. and Kitty Leary. He was a 1960 graduate of Cradock High School, volunteered at Bon Secours Maryview Nursing Care Center and was an animal lover.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas R. Leary, Jr. and wife Judith of Portsmouth and Robert C. Leary and wife Trisha of Suffolk; sister, Katherine Smith of Grandy, NC; brother, Richard Leary and wife Ellie of Springfield, IL; three grandchildren, Samantha, Morgan and Madison; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 3 PM in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 PM. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com
