Emmett Howard Walke, 59, of the 600 block of Shell Road, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, at his residence.

Mr. Walke was born in Norfolk County and was the son of Alma Howard Walke of Chesapeake and the late Roland Walke. He was retired from the Tidewater Auto Auction in Chesapeake. He was also a photographer for WCMS radio and was active with the Tidewater Bluegrass Music Association.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Julia Hoerst Walke of Chesapeake.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hickory Ruritan Club, South Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake. There will be no viewing or visitation. The family will receive friends at their residence at 620 Shell Road.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Epilepsy Foundation or to the Tidewater Bluegrass Music Association. Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, provided information.
