Nancy was born in Elizabeth City, N.C. on Oct. 21, 1939. Nancy was a loving wife, a devoted daughter and a dedicated mother. For the past 10 years, she resided in Virginia Beach to be close to her family and attended Bayside Baptist Church. Nancy was blessed with the devoted love and caring of her family. Nancy will be greatly missed and will remain forever in the hearts of her husband, J.C. Lowder; her daughter, Sharon Lee and her two sons, Brett and Bryan Lee of Wilmington, N.C.; her mother, Margaret Williams Rodriguez; and her brother, B. Rod Rodriguez, both of Virginia Beach; her sisters-in- law, Jane Lowder and Louise Dunford; and brothers-in-law, James, David and Jerry Lowder, all originally from Albemarle, N.C. Nancy was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Todd Lowder; her daughter, Karen Renee Lowder; her brother, Arnold Cruz Rodriguez; and her father, Arnold Rodriguez. A celebration of Nancy's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. J. Mark Pullen Sr. to officiate. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd., Chesapeake. There will be no viewing; however, the family will be receiving friends and family immediately following the service until 4 p.m. at the home of Rod and Cindy Rodriguez, 3116 Inlet Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Center of Bayside Baptist Church, 1920 Pleasure House Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.
