Mickey Mixon, CHS-58, died on Sunday morning in a Portland, Oregon hospital. His death came from complications of emphysema and cancer. He had been ill and in failing health for the past two years.

"Mickey"...William Benjamin Mixon was born on September 15, 1940 and lived to be 74 years old. He enjoyed a very successful career as a businessman in Portland. In Portland, Mickey was a member and sometimes Champion Pool Player. Cascade Pool Community posted on their Facebook Page that they had " lost a player when Mickey Mixon Passed away ...Great guy!!"

William Benjamin Mixon was a treasured member of CHS-58, grew up in Cradock Gardens on Rodgers Place and was a NYC Fashion Model for a few years immediately after graduation from Cradock.

For a few years Mickey was in the Restaurant business and served both the Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach and the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach as the maître d’hôtel. These two are the most historically and architecturally significant hotels in their respective beach communities.

Those who knew "The Mick", knew that he was a solid friend, one you could always count on for his unswerving loyalty. He made friends easily at Cradock and everyone that we knew liked him.

He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Starla, and two children living in Atlanta, Mickey Jr. and Nadine. Starla wants to thank all of the Cradock Folks who sent a get well card to Mickey in his final days. She said that he was touched to hear from old friends.
