Suffolk - Sharon O'Shields Jeter, 73, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 in Suffolk. A native of Wake Forrest, N.C., she was a retired clerk for Eastern Virginia Medical School and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hollis Miller Jeter, Sr.

Survivors include her husband, Kirk Mathis; a daughter, Susan J. Clark of Culpepper, Va.; a son, William Scott Jeter of Chesapeake; a step-daughter, Connie Kilmon of Williamsburg; a step-son, Hillis M. Jeter of Old Church, Va. and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel by the Rev. Philip J. Parker.
