On Jan. 17, 2017, Douglas McRary was ushered into the presence of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

His memory will be cherished and honored by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Wilfong McRary; sons, Gregory, Gary and Glen; daughters-in-law, Laura, Cindy and Kelsey; grandchildren, Erin, Matthew, Jonathan, Justin, Jordan, Julia, Brendan and Ailey; brother, Jack; and sister, Glenda. Doug was predeceased by his parents, Bearl and Zell McRary.

Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. on Wed., January 18, at Sturtevant Event Center, 5100 Portsmouth Blvd. A private burial will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens followed by a public celebration of his life at 11:30 a.m. Thurs. at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International, PO Box 61, Portsmouth, VA 23705.
