 Carl Eugene Hoggard Class of 1957
| Portsmouth - Carl Eugene Hoggard, born November 4, 1938 in Ahoskie, NC to the late Thomas and Annie Hoggard passed away May 7, 2014. After years of service at National Linen and Doughtie's Foods, he retired from Smithfield Foods. He was an avid Redskins fan. He is survived by his wife, Lydie Hoggard; two daughters, Karen Dunn and husband Shane of Gallatin, TN and Barbara "Sissie" Ferguson; four sons, Carl Hoggard, Jr., Beau Hoggard, Lee Hoggard and Don Ferguson and wife Karen; a sister, Peggy Mozingo; a brother, Thomas Hoggard; eleven grandchildren, including grandson Tristin-Bug "a ray of sunshine in his life"; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by Mr. Keith Lewis. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
