Chesapeake - Donald Ray Miller, 76, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013. He was born in Pulaski, VA to the late Jesse and Hazel Miller. He was a member of Boogie On the Bay Shag Club and particularly enjoyed being with his friends in Myrtle Beach for the annual SOS Shag event. He also spent many happy days traveling around the country, state and local ball fields supporting his daughter, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Allyn Miller; a daughter, Donna Edmondson; a sister, June Miller; two grandchildren, Lauren and Kendall Edmondson; two nieces, Cindy Aston and Rhonda Query; five sister-in-laws; a brother-in-law; and a large extended family.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 27, at Monumental United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joe Cailles. Entombment will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the  American Cancer Society  at 4416 Expressway Dr. Virginia Beach, VA 23452 www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com
