John Forest Vance Jr., 58, of the 5000 block of Bridges Ave., died Feb. 7, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. Vance was the son of the late John Forest Vance Sr. and Mamie Bonham Vance. He was a computer expert for IBM for 13 years.

Survivors include a son, John Allen Vance of Portsmouth; a sister, Betty Vance Wescott of Portsmouth; a niece, Toni Horton Barlow of Chesapeake; and a nephew, William Timothy Horton, also of Chesapeake.

A graveside service will be held in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens on Friday, Feb. 10, 1995, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Johnnie McDonald officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 at Twiford Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge.
