Joseph Watson Tyler died on August 11, 2010. He was born in Kelford, NC on Jan. 13th 1936 to Lodwick and Hettie Tyler. Joe was a lifetime member of the Masons and a graduate of Cradock High School in Portsmouth, VA where he grew up. He later resided in Edgewater, FL for 26 years. His first wife, Betty H. Tyler, preceded him in death and they were married for 39 years, along with a brother, James Loyd and two sisters, Marjorie Britt and Betty Humphrey. He remarried, Jeannette Corliss Tyler for 16 years where they resided in Oak Hill, FL. Survivors include his wife Jeannette; two sons, Greg of Portsmouth, VA, Bobby of Austin, TX; a daughter, Tracy Manning of Port Orange, FL; grandchildren include Justin, Nate, Allie, Jordan, the belated Jason Tyler and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Daugherty Clark; stepchildren include Debra Brown, Hilary Keniston, Carla Home, and Donald Home. Joe was an avid fisherman and a commercial shrimper, but most of all a loving husband, father, and friend to many. A Celebration of Joe's life will be held Saturday, August 14 from 2-4 p.m. at The Hospice Chapel, of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Wood-briar Trl., Port Orange. (Off Dunlawton Blvd) The family is asking in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Hospice of Volusia Co.
