William Henry Neal, Jr., CHS-55 dies June 5, 2012.
William Henry Neal, Jr. of Norlina died at his residence on Tuesday, June 5. A service to celebrate his life will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ridgeway on Friday, June 8 at 11 ...a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at St. Paul's.
A native of Tarboro, his family moved to Portsmouth, Va. when Henry was a toddler. He graduated from Cradock High School in 1955 and then went to work for Ford Motor Company. In 1960, he married Edna Bender and was then drafted into the Army, where he received orders to go to Germany. After serving his time in the Army, Henry returned to work, where he retired from Ford after 30 years. Henry was also the proprietor of Neal's Vending Services and was an avid duckpin bowler. Henry was a longtime member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Portsmouth, Va. He served as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, deacon and elder during his years at Alliance. He and Edna moved to Edna's childhood hometown five years ago to spend their golden years.
Henry is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Edna Bender Neal; his son, Ronald G. Neal and his wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Crystal N. Key and her husband, Bud; his daughter, Victoria F. Neal; grandchildren, Travis Neal, Philip Neal, Jackson Key, Bailey Key and Canaan Key; and sisters, Barbara Conti, Nancy Poehlein and Caroline Bordonaro.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home of Henderson.
