KILL DEVIL HILLS - Paul L. Donaldson, 69, died at his residence on Nov. 15, 2006.

He was born in Portsmouth on June 16, 1937. After graduating from Craddock High School in 1955, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He was employed as a mechanical engineering technician in Pipe and Design at Norfolk Naval Shipyard from 1966 until retirement in December 1992. He joined CDI Marine Corporation in December 1992 until retiring in December 1999. Paul was an avid golfer and fisherman and truly enjoyed his retirement on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Mr. Donaldson is survived by his wife, Barbara M. Donaldson; his mother, Elizabeth B. Donaldson; and two nieces, Vickie Keith and Susan Edwards. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Vaughan Donaldson; his brother, Robert D. Donaldson; and his sister-in-law, Ann M. Donaldson.
