Betty Christopher Henderson, 61, of the 5000 block of Challedon Drive, passed away on Dec. 25, 1997, in her home.

Mrs. Henderson was a longtime member of Community United Methodist Church. She also retired from the Virginia Beach Public School system. She was preceded in death by her father, Milburn John Christopher; her mother, Ann Ragan Christopher; and her husband, Lawrence Edward Henderson.

Survivors include her two daughters, Katherine Anne Hurst and her husband, Charles, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Holly Elizabeth Henderson of Studio City, Calif.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Community United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Community United Methodist Church.
