Garnett Malone Buck Jr.

CHESAPEAKE - Garnett Malone Buck Jr., 68, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, from his home in the 2500 block of Lakewood Lane.

Born in High Point, N.C., he was preceded in death by his parents Garnett M. Buck Sr. and Ella Lucille Mendenhall, and an infant brother, Roger Howard Buck. Malone was a sales associate for William E. Wood and Associates and an active member of Point Harbor Community Church.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Carylon Virginia Crouch Buck; three daughters, Bonnie Sutton and husband Tom, Betsy Brown and husband Lee and Beverly Hagy and husband Jim, all of Portsmouth; a son, Barry Buck and wife Miranda of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister, JoAnn Buck Jones and husband Dick of Chesapeake; a brother Charles R. Buck Sr. and wife Mary of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Shearin and husband Brandon, Jessica Brown, Jeremy Brown, Joel Brown, Ben Hagy, Noah Hagy, Tison Buck and Turk Buck.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Point Harbor Community Church by Pastor John Houston, the Rev. T. M. Frye and the Rev. Lee Brown. Burial will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
