Shirley Ann Warner Bland, 62, of Candlemakers Lane, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at Virginia Baptist Hospital.
She was the widow of Robert O'Neal Bland Sr. Born in Sanford, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Wilton Clyde and Meta Mae Godfrey Warner. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Ruth Doss and Mildred C. Gaines, and one brother, Clyde Warner Jr.
Mrs. Bland was a graduate of Craddock High School, Class of 1954, and a former member of Faith Baptist Church in Portsmouth.
She is survived by a son, Robert O. Bland Jr. of Lynchburg; two daughters, Angela B. Sullivan and her husband, Michael, of Chesapeake, and Tammy B. McKeen of Rustburg; a brother, Preston D. ''Bud'' Warner of Sanford, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Clearview Baptist Church on Candlers Mountain, Rustburg, Va., by Dr. Wayne Green. Interment will follow in the Clearview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Whitten Timberlake Chapel, Lynchburg, and at other times at the residence.
