GREENVILLE - Albert Kravitz, 75, took Jesus' hand and went to heaven Oct. 4, 2011. Al was born in Washington, D.C., Sept. 13, 1936. He managed several major retail grocery store chains for more than 30 years. He leaves behind his father, Leon Kravitz residing in Maggie Valley, N.C.; and his brother, Dennis Kravitz residing in Portsmouth. He will also be missed by his surviving children: son, Leon Kravitz-Williams, son, Norman and wife Tashia, grandson, Matthew, granddaughter, Jenna, granddaughter, Amanda and great-granddaughter, Kayden; daughter, Nancy and granddaughter Lindsay; daughter, Nicole and grandson Ryan; daughter, Tara; son, Robert and wife Jenny; and son, Christopher. It was Al's wishes not to have a funeral. He only wanted his children to know he truly loved all of them and he was happy about going to heaven. Al even left everyone a message by departing at exactly 4:07 a.m.: 2 Timothy 4:7 reads: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful."
