PORTSMOUTH - Leslie Bernard Mitchell III, 74, of the 200 block of Park Road, passed away July 23, 2007, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
A native of Portsmouth, he was the son of the late Florence and Leslie B. Mitchell Jr. He retired as general foreman of Shop 67 in Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 37 years of service and was currently working with the family business, M&M Glassworks. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Bellefonte Hunt Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Charlotte McDannald Mitchell; his daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Netts of Suffolk; a brother, Charlie R. "Bill" Mitchell of Matthews, N.C.; and two nieces. He was predeceased by a son, Michael D. Mitchell.
A graveside service will be
conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Olive Branch Cemetery with the Rev.
John Gray officiating. The family will receive friends in Snellings
Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m.
