Marvin Thomas “Pete” Jones, Jr., 83, of the 2100 block of Partridge Place passed away on Friday February 17, 2017. He was a native of Lynchburg, Virginia and was the husband of Evelyn Hopkins Jones. Mr. Jones was a retired inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, was a member of Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church and faithfully served in the United States Coast Guard.

Survivors also include three daughters; Kelly Maguire and husband Mike of San Diego, California, Cindy Fleck and husband David of Pentwater, Michigan, Shari Rubright and husband David of Virginia Beach, six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, Feb. 25 at Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church, Suffolk by the Rev. Leigh Gillis. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel is assisting the family.
