Chesapeake - Robert Charles Brown, 82, of Lambert Trail, passed away January 6, 2015 after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Jane; twin infant daughters, Margaret and Catherine; parents, Howard and Katherine Zahn Brown; sister, Charlotte Daniels of Indiana; and brother, Howard Brown, Jr. Robert attended Cradock High School and in 1952 entered the Air Force where he worked as a structural airplane mechanic for 4 years. He retired from the Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth where he worked in the sheet metal shop. Robert was an avid hunter of deer, turkey and other small game.

Robert is survived by his sisters, Jean Mitchell and Bette Brown, brother, Leroy Brown, and niece Wealthe Brown, all of Chesapeake; and step-son, Jeff Bruzzesi of Virginia Beach.

A gathering/viewing for friends and family will begin at 2:30 PM Friday, Jan. 9, followed by a military service at 4 PM in Sturtevant Funeral Home Chapel, 5201 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth. Interment at Robert's final resting place, Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, will be at a later date for immediate family members.
