Robert Charles "Bob" Knaggs, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in Lee County.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009, in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Reverend Tracy Brinson will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Making Miracles Happen, c/o Perry Country Club, 1000 North Davis Drive, Perry, GA 31069.
Mr. Knaggs was born in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Robert Hugh and Grace White Knaggs. He served his country 2 years in the United States Army and 4 years in the United States Air Force. He loved to play golf and was an avid and faithful member of Perry Country Club, serving as President of the Men's Golf Association for several years. Bob was Chairman and Hole Captain for many LPGA and PGA Golf Tournaments through the years.
He was very involved in fundraising for many various golf associations and charities, including Making Miracles Happen and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where he volunteered as well. Above all, he loved playing with his grandchildren.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Blonnie Knaggs of Perry; his children, Rita Bandt (Bruce)
of Ft. Valley, and Mark Knaggs (Carol) of Canton; his grandchildren, Kevin Bandt, Shelby Bandt, and Bailey Knaggs; and a sister, Mary Annarino of Chesapeake, VA.
