Frances Watson-Deeds Class of 1949

Frances (Watson) Deeds PORTSMOUTH - Frances Deeds, 81, lived at Emily Green Shores, pass away Aug. 23, 2011. Fran was born in Chapel Hill, N.C., and attended Cradock High School. She was the retired executive director of Girls Inc. formerly known as Girls Club of America. She was married to the late Charles R. Deeds Sr. She loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and cooking out. Wherever she went she always made friends and was loved by all. She is survived by her five children: son, Mike Deeds and his wife Diane; daughter, Donna Baird; son, Johnny Deeds and his wife Starr; son, Chuck Deeds; and daughter, Kim Davis and her husband Chuck; a sister Eva Dicks and a brother Buck Watson. She had nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with one on the way. A service will be held at Cradock Presbyterian Church, 39 Afton Parkway, Portsmouth, at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church or the Cancer Society of America.
