VIRGINIA BEACH - Herman Carlton Hill, 77, passed away on Feb. 19, 2010.

Mr. Hill was the son of the late William James Hill and Maggie Edwards Hill and was preceded in death by a son Herman Lewis Hill. In the mid-1960s, he served as head umpire for the senior league of Azalea Little League and was a carpenter by trade.

Survivors include three children, Carlton Lee Hill and wife Sallie of Newport News, Belinda Gail Hill and Theresa Sehl of Virginia Beach, and Andrew Kent Hill and wife Kathy "Red" Hill of Knotts Island and their mother, Jennie W. Bryant of Virginia Beach.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rosewood Memorial Park.
