Shirley C. Scott, 67, of West Colin Drive, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, in her home.
She was a native of Lebanon, Va., and was a retired supervisor from Maryland Undercoating. She was a member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church, a Lifenet volunteer, and a heart transplant recipient.
Survivors include two daughters, Deena Marshall and Robin Gile of Portsmouth; two sons, John H. James Jr. of Smithfield, Va., and Michael James of Carrollton, Va.; two brothers, Jack Carlton of De Soto, Texas, and Scottie Carlton of Springfield, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Tracey, Julie, Jeremiah, John, Ashley and Corey.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Ernie Myers. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Contributions may be made to Lifenet or to the Heart Transplant Program at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
