Erskine C. White was born on June 4, 1924 and passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011.

Erskine and Shirlee M. Parker met while attending Craddock High School in Portsmouth, Va. Erskine enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II and was sent to Miami, Fla., to await deployment to Germany. When he returned they were married on June 14, 1947. They moved to Hampton, Va., in 1956 with three of their four children. Erskine was employed with NASA, Langley, Va. They moved to the Hidenwood area of Newport News, Va., in 1957 and then to Beechwood in 1963.
Erskine and Shirlee have four children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
