HARRISONBURG - William M. Pollard Sr., 91, formerly of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008. He was a native of Fitzgerald, Ga., and was a son of the late James and Edith Pollard. He was a member of Cradock Presbyterian Church, Cradock Lions Club, T.A. Russell Everyman's Bible Class Luncheon, VRRL (W4KTT) and retired as a radio and T.V. technician.

He was predeceased by his two brothers, Wayne Pollard and James R. Pollard Jr. He is survived by his wife, Rose Everton Pollard; a son, William M. Pollard Jr., and wife Susan of Bridgewater, Va.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Pollard and fiance Chris Rhines of Midlothian, Va., and Jeff Pollard and wife Olivia of Richmond.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Don McLean. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
