Chesapeake – Barbara Ann West, 68, a retired teacher, died Aug. 22, 1986, in a hospital.

Miss West, a Moyock, N.C., native, had retired from Portsmouth Public Schools in the home economics department. She was a member of Moyock Baptist Church; order of the Eastern Star, Tidal Chapter 9; and the Portsmouth Business and Professional Women’s club. She was a graduate of East Carolina Teachers’ College.

Survivors include a sister, Bettie W. Humphreys, and a brother, Dennis E. West, both of Virginia Beach.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Moyock Cemetery by the Rev. Vic. Ramsey. The family will be at Twiford’s Colonial Chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
