 Kathryn Holder Nance |
ELIZABETH CITY - Kathryn Holder Nance, 91, formerly of Elizabeth City, died May 9, 2008, in Sentara Nursing Center-Currituck. She was born in Wake County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late William C. Holder and Ila Poole Holder and was the widow of William M. Nance. Mrs. Nance was a retired administrative assistant for Cradock High School in Portsmouth and was a Methodist. Survivors include her daughters, Patricia K. Nance of St. Louis, Mo., and Jo Ann N. Spencer of Southern Shores, N.C.; a son, Bill Nance of Nags Head; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nance was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jo Morgan and Jane Clevenger.
A private graveside service will be held Monday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday at Twiford's Funeral Home, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27605.
