Harry Randy Florke, 55, of Charlotte died Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, N.C., following a lengthy battle with multiple sclerosis. Mr. Florke was born Dec. 17, 1953, in Fayetteville, N.C. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Walter Florke.
Mr. Florke was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Randolph-Macon College in Virginia and a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern University in Dallas, Texas. He last worked and retired as a physician's assistant in Pembroke, N.C. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He was also a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church.

A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home in Dunn by the Rev. Gregg Bolick. Burial will follow at Spring Branch Church Cemetery with full military honors.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Pat" Florke of Charlotte; his mother, Leatrice Florke Collins of Dunn; a stepdaughter, Tamy Trimble and husband Brent Trimble of Charlotte; a sister, Renee Florke Belfore and husband Lee A. Belfore; and nephews, Harry A. Belfore and Ben T. Belfore, all of Chesapeake, Va.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
