CHESAPEAKE - Roy Lee Tucker Jr., 62, of the 3200 block of Jean Court, died March 30, 2009, in a Norfolk hospital. A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, he retired with 30 years of service from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 31. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Ten Point Hunt Club and Poor Boys Hunt Club, both in Emporia. Survivors include his wife, Donna Jean Tucker; his mother, Barbara Lucille Tucker of Portsmouth; three daughters, Erika Michelle Tucker of Virginia Beach, Ashley Nicole McCready and husband Jeremy of Chesapeake and Tammy Sue Tucker of Portsmouth; two sisters, Judy Tucker Brostrom and Suzanne Tucker McAlpin, both of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Robert Tucker of Portsmouth and David Tucker of Smithfield; and a grandchild, Madison "His Sunshine." He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Tucker Sr. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by Pastor Shannon Joyner. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Alive Building Fund. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
