CHESAPEAKE - Charles Samuel "Sam" Boroody, 66, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011. He was born in Portsmouth to the late Augustine and Ruth Boroody. He was a Baptist, a 1968 graduate of Elon College and was active with Cradock High School alumni. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty H. Boroody. He is survived by his six daughters, Wendy Wagner and her partner Adam Jardine, Jennifer Trevino and husband Bobby, Sandra Pascas and husband Troy, Kathy Humphreys and significant other David Southard, Caroline Ward and husband Mike and Anna Slaght and husband Stefan; a sister, Gerri DiGiovanni and husband Richard; five grandchildren, Livia, Marin, Naomi, Aiden and Alexander; a nephew, Kenny Hall; a niece, Sharon Hall; and many great-nieces and -nephews. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Mr. Keith Lewis.
