Donald Miller Townsend, Jr., 40 years old, of Norfolk, Virginia, died 25 July,1984, at his home, of sudden heart failure.

Mr. Townsend was born, 25 January, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, the son of the late Donald Miller Townsend, Sr. and, Thelma Greer (Salmon) Townsend. Mr. Townsend attended public schools in Virginia and South Carolina before obtaining Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Old Dominion University in 1972. At the time of his death, Mr. Townsend was working on his Master's degree at Old Dominion University.

Upon graduation from Cradock High School, class of 1962, Mr. Townsend enlisted

in the United States Air Force and, upon completion of basic training, spend his first year studying Chinese language at Yale University. Mr. Townsend was station with the U.S. Air Force in Madrid, Spain. Donnie and, his wife Flora traveled extensively throughout Europe during his tour of duty in Spain.

Mr. Townsend is survived by his ex-wife Flora Townsend Rodriquez, daughter Christina Townsend Rodriquez, son Thomas Miller Townsend Rodriquez of Annapolis, Md. Vernon L Townsend, Sr. brother, two sisters Jan S Townsend, and Debra D. Townsend.

Additionally, Mr. Townsend is survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Nieces, and Cousins.

Burial was with his beloved Grandmother's site in Cameron, NC.
