Chesapeake – Claudia Anne Simmons Richards, 46, of the 4200 block of Raleigh Road died Sept. 11, 1986, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mrs. Richards, a San Diego Native, had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Carl S. Richards; two sons, Scott Richards and Chris Richards, both of Chesapeake; and three brothers, Sammy R. Simmons of Portsmouth, Robert O. Simmons and James M. Simmons, both of Chesapeake.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Emmaus Baptist Church by the Rev. W. Chreston Holloman. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
